Time to smell the roses

Here goes the monthly blogger. May is always an interesting month. There are a few birthdays in the family and it is almost winter. So normally its time for a bit of fun and a last ditch effort at getting the house and garden ready for winter...

... but this month we sadly had to say good-bye to Tim's grandmother. We wish her peace and thank her for enriching our lives.

Dear Great nan,

I am so happy for you to be reunited with your beloved Harry, it is so romantic. We are all glad you are not in pain anymore; Jai said he wasn't sad because you would be laughing and kissing Great pop in heaven.

I didn't know you in your prime, but your strength of character, love of others and appreciation of all the gifts of god transcend through your posterity.

I hope we can all learn, like you, to take one day at a time, and take time to smell the roses.

Love Us

Tim's Birthday
Happy birthday honey! We love you so much. You make everyone around you happy, most of all me. Thanks for another year of memories and laughs. Love your family:)

Jai's Race went well. He didn't fall over or cry or give up. We are so proud of him. He didn't win but he tried his best. Go Jai!

Happy Mothers Day

My Mum...... I don't know how she does it!
Thank you for being my mum, and the person I aspire to be. We all love and adore you.

Last Night we had an early mothers day celebratory dinner. We wanted to get together before Wally and Wanda head off on their annual winter escape.

Missy's new BF! Paul fed lady-muck until her heart was content. She had plum chicken kebabs, fried rice, beef stew, tuna patties with aoli, and then trifle and profiteroles for dessert. What a hungry little caterpillar!

Happy mothers day Wanda. If it weren't for you, I would never have found my perfect match. Thank you for being the wonderful person you are. We missed Sarah and Ray, Jenna and Nandali, Sophia, Christopher, Liam and Bailey. It was a good night.

Jai, Arden and Ava will miss nan and pop while they are gone. We've had some beautiful autumn days to go walking and to get stuck into the garden. Happy travels!

Cross your fingers for Jai's cross country race this tuesday. He's been training hard, but recently got a sniffley nose. Go Jai!

walking

All ready for school
These guys are stuck inside today because of the weather, but that has not damped their school spirit. Soon enough they will be walking to school together. Hey that will mean they will all be out of nappies, won't it? I'm excited...

I can't remember if Ava was walking when we loped all of those trees in our garden, but I'm guessing she has been well on her way for probably a good month now. She tries to go faster to keep up with the boys, but usually her feet aren't fast enough for her.

It's amazing how quickly everything greened up after summer finished.

A Mother of One

Ahh, the good ol' Mozart Place days... The year was 2004, Tim and I were still newly weds, sort of. I wanted four children at this stage, and I remember dad saying if we took these three off their hands we'd only need to have one.
When you have your first child it can be a lot more difficult than you first antisipate. Of course, looking back, one is infinately easier than three...

I was feeling rather nostalgic today, and in light of the upcoming mothers day, I thought I'd look back on first becoming a mother.

Monto April 2006

We moved to Queensland to spend some time with my famliy and also to see a little more of Australia before we would have more children and travelling would become more difficult.

Birthday happenings

The usual Garage Sale

Was this at Sarah's birthday party? One of the best ever.
PS don't get on Tia's bad side!

Lovers, kissers, holder-of-hands! Haha!

One of those 'almost-all-of-the-family' pictures

I love this photo! Good times

It was 40 degrees Celsius on this day, as well as many others. The pool felt like it was heated.

Golden Beach October 2006
This was our front yard for 6 months. I know it looks perfect, but there is a down side to almost everything i think. We were happy to have lived here, but happy to move on as well.

Jai's First hair cut at 19 months old

I think Jai was meant to be the second child born into the family because he is such a "people person". He would get so bored being by himself. Thats why I love that he got to grow up a little with Pani, Orrin and Tia. Sorry about the bite marks guys.

No, he isn't 2 years old in this photo, he's just cheeky. Thanks for my tough introduction to motherhood Jai, you have made me stronger than I could have imagined.I love you always, mum Big Kiss Little Kiss Hug Hug Kiss Kiss

Orrin's Baptism

And here we go over on the boat to Kerang, country Victoria for squils Baptism. I'm so proud of him, he is an awesome brother to us all, and a great Uncle to the kids.

The kids loved being in the van. We had to keep on sending Jai over the back to get the babies their bottles.

The wait for departure out of Devonport was atrocious. However, because we were a little late, we got bumped to the front of the line. I did feel a little bad for the people who had been lining up since 6am.

Thank you so much Bobbi for the up-grade to the porthole cabins, it would have been awful to wait around on the boat with no where to retreat to with the kids for a rest before our big drive to Kerang. Jai won the facepainting competition that was put on for the kids.

We made it. It was about 1am Saturday morning by the time we got there.

Little Athletics . . . ahh, that brings back memories, doesn't it?
The kids won everything, so well done guys!

I'm giving Tia some hints on throwing the Discus, which was one of my specialties in the junior years.

Saturday 6th March Orrin's Baptism

It was a special moment for everyone when Steve and Orrin were wading out into the lake. Orrin has a wonderful innocense and trusting nature. It was a really nice service, even though we stood in clay mud, with the rain falling around us.

Happy Belated Birthday my darling baby girl...
We did celebrate her birthday already, but in my crazy circumstances, I couldn't find the camera to take pictures. Mana got some though, if that makes it any better.
