Auntie Hay comes to visit

Sticky strands of web from a glow worm. We actually saw one strike it rich by catching a luscious moth for dinner.

Hayley makes a new friend. This little guy was really brave! The shrimp in the caves don't have eyes cause they don't need to use them, and have evolved that way. Waste not want not.

Caving was awesome, but exhausting. In the summer time it is the perfect temperature and also interesting to see the formations a little drier than normal. After all that though, I still prefer the adventure of crawling through water and climbing over waterfalls which are more prolific in the winter months. Thanks Paul!

So while hay's been here we have managed to squeeze in some caving into our daily activities, but most of the time the kids just want to play 'Duck, duck, goose' with her and stuff in the back yard. Hay is teaching Jai a few things on the guitar and Ardy loves the teddy she knitted for him.

Things that remind me of Australia Day

Family, friends and fun! Thats what Australia Day is all about. We'll miss out this year, but here are some memories from the past.

Face paint provided by Jai.. what a douche

The Gee Whizzer was really fun! We were a bit dizzy afterward, and I was glad Jai hadn't knocked any teeth out. Poor ardy will have to wait until next year.

That fighting Aussie spirit...

Silver bells and cockel shells

Everything is starting to come together for the wedding. I can't wait to get photos of all the family together. It's going to be great just hanging out and spending time together.
We got a silver tie for Orrin as well but I think it will be too short:(

Choir Boys

I love dressing the boys in their churchies. They like to look in the mirror to make sure we've dressed them properly. Arden especially likes to make sure he is spick and span from head to toe. Then as soon as we leave the house he messes up everything.

The following are just some random shots from over the last couple of months.

Eccles Happenings

Little missy hanging out at the Gorge swimming pool. And yes, the water was freezing!
She loves the water and loves to get it everywhere when we are at home.

Sorry I caught you blinking there, Wally. Or was that too much Rhubarb champagne for you?
These are the chocolate christmas trees I made up for our ward christmas party centerpieces.

This might look like christmas day but it is actually the second of January. Arden had so many presents left over that he hadn't opened yet, that we had to make him open them so we could pack up his santa sack with the rest of the christmas decorations. What a little weirdo. I guess we could have saved a lot more money if we had relised this would be the case, and have only bought him a couple of presents. If only it was like this always...

This is supposed to be a plum pudding but I ran out of time to paint in the pieces of fruit. It worked really well with the string tied up over every eighth of the balloon. That way when the kids hit it, lollies would come flying out for each one of them without the whole thing falling to the ground. There was about 2kg of lollies in it as well, so we needed the extra support. By the way, that was too much for the kids, there were left over lollies.

We spent the end of the year at Bridport. I cannot believe that Jai didn't get sun burnt. There were a lot of red faces around so it was a rare sight to see. By the way, Jai referred to our get away as 'Summer Camp'. We had a great time relaxing, (sometimes), and spending time with friends and family.
